Settling into school

What smart children we have that have started their journey with us in Reception! So grown up and independent.

The children have had a lovely first few weeks, learning the new routines, making friends, trying school dinners or bringing a packed lunch and joining in with lots of classroom activities, inside and out.

They have had their first PE lesson, story sessions, singing, dance sessions, drawn their first pictures, painted, made models, explored the outdoor environment and lots more!

The children have loved showing their mouse everything they can do.

All the grown ups are really enjoying getting to know everyone smiley

We have had lots of fun this term....

  • Mouse club- using our Transitional Object to help us settle into school with lots of mice related activities
  • Harvest Festival
  • Attendance Day
  • We started Read Write Inc and our grown ups were invited to a Phonics Meeting for Parents to help support us at home
  • Book Fair
  • Anti Bullying Week
  • Rockstar Day with a  focus on Maths
  • Spelling Bee
  • Elf Day and a Big Write
  • Writing letters to Father Christmas
  • The arrival of The Elf on the Shelf to our classroom one morning was very exciting
  • The Twinkly Nativity
  • PE was a focus on fundamental skills and Dinosaur Dance
