St John's Eco Code

At St John’s we hold the Green Flag award.

St John’s Eco-committee consist of pupils from across all year groups that take part in regular meetings to discuss any issues, upcoming events and action to be taken. Pupils take responsibility for the chairing of meetings and take minutes during meetings.

The Eco-committee completed an ‘Environmental Review’ at the beginning of the school year. From this, they developed an action plan for the Eco-committee to work towards over the year and beyond.

At St John’s pupils focus on Energy, Global Citizenship, Waste, Litter, Transport, Healthy Living, School Grounds, Biodiversity and Water. All pupils from across the year groups take part in many different curriculum-linked activities throughout the year relating to each area.

Events St John’s will be enjoying throughout the school year are:

Switch-Off Fortnight

Waste Week

Earth Day

Enterprise Week

Our first focus for the school year will be Switch-Off Fortnight, where the whole school will be working together to complete curriculum-linked activities. Keep an eye out for pupils bringing home audit forms in November, please support the school by helping to complete the audits. These will help the pupils to measure the impact of our campaign.

More details to follow in the school year regarding Waste Week, Earth Day and Enterprise Week.
