At All Saints Church we’re really happy to be linked with St John’s, whether it’s through church members being governors, our Open the Book drama team leading school worship, or the school using the church for special services like Christmas, Easter and the Leavers’ Service or exploring the church as part of their RE learning.
As vicar, I’m a school governor, and I also enjoy coming into school to lead collective worship and to be involved in occasional lessons- the children always have lots of thoughtful questions for me. I love telling Bible stories in creative ways and thinking about what they might mean for our lives now, and it’s great the way the children engage with things and get involved.
I even brought the Vicarage puppy Miri into worship when she was very little – the children were very lovely with her. Unfortunately she’s a bit too big and lively to do that now, but some of the children have spotted her pulling me along on my unicycle on the Ripley Greenway!
I look forward to meeting you all at school, church, or out and about in Ripley.
Blessings,
Rev John
