REMEMBRANCE

The children joined the community to parade through Ripley to remember the lives of service men and women lost in conflict. They made poppies to display at All Saints Church at the Cenotaph and in the bus shelter on Nottingham Road.

HARVEST AT ST. JOHN'S

The families of St. John's gave generously for harvest. It was wonderful to celebrate Harvest Festival in school with all the children surrounded by all your kind contributions.

The food donations were added to our school food bank in school to support our own families and the community of St. John’s. We also sent some of the donations to the Salvation Army to support our wider community.

BISHOP'S BADGE

CONGRATULATIONS OLIVER!

I had the honour of attending Derby Cathedral this morning to see Oliver receive the Bishop’s Badge. The Bishop’s Badge award recognises outstanding Christian contributions and is awarded to children who embody the Derby diocesan values.

Oliver was one of only thirty-six children who attend a church school across the Diocese of Derby to receive the award.

Oliver was nominated for this reason:
“Oliver is a light for all to see. He lives and breathes our school values and school rule of ‘Treating others as you want to be treated.”

Well done Oliver, you should be so proud of the bright light you shine as an active member of our Worship Team and St. John’s family. Oliver is generous with his time, often thinking of others and asking how he can help around school. He supports the younger worship team members and inspires them to be the best they can be. He does this in his calm, quiet, thoughtful manner.

We are so lucky to have you at St. John’s.
