Our Christian Ethos

Ripley St. John’s is a Church of England School and as such the school has a Christian ethos at its heart. Worship is an extremely important part of day, where the whole school come together as one to share, communicate, grow, and celebrate. Our Worship Team take the lead each time we gather and they help to set the tone for the day.

Christian values permeate the school's work and are integral to everything. RE teaching is broad and balanced encompassing all world religions. This includes asking speakers to come in to school to share their beliefs from other cultures. We encourage our children to become deep thinkers.

We would like our children to continue their reflection and experience at home. Please look at our home school value sheet, this will give you lots of ideas of activities you can do at home.

Aims and Values

At St John's we aim to provide a safe, caring, loving environment that promotes core Christian and British values in our children, preparing them for their next school and for later life. We aim to equip them with the self-esteem, confidence, respect, resilience and tolerance to be responsible and become all round good citizens.

Please look at the document below to share the aims and values of St John's.  We developed these aims and values as a whole school community and we believe they encompass everything that children need to help prepare them for their future and life in modern Britain.
